About

Imagine you have spent time, money and energy purchasing new IT equipment only to continue having costly, unexpected IT problems?

How frustrated would you be if you made an investment in a new software application that was supposed to solve a major business problem but you can’t get the product off the ground, or worse yet – you need to keep spending and spending to get the desired result?

What might be just imagination for some business owners can be an absolute nightmare for others. If you can relate to horror stories like these you’re not alone. Thousands of companies invest in IT hardware, software and services each year and are left feeling disappointed and out of pocket. Some give up and accept that ‘it’s just the way IT is’ whereas others take action and put the necessary steps in place to prevent major IT dramas from occurring in their business.

For me, starting I Know IT was at first just about bringing people together who knew technology and responding to the support needs of our clients, but over time we started to unravel an all too common thread where companies weren’t getting the type of product or service from their current IT provider they had thought they’d paid for, and were frequently left having to change service providers to get the desired result.

“I think that one important thing with any outsourcing service is trust and that is particularly important because I don’t have a clue. So if the expert is telling me ‘you need this type of server and this sort of software, this firewall and all this sort of stuff’. Is that right or was I taken for a ride and sold all this stuff that I don’t need? With I Know IT I’ve never had any problems with that. I never doubt their judgment at all.”

We’re not saying it’s always easy, some businesses have many years of technology cobbled together resulting in there not always being a simple answer and sometimes a lengthy process of getting to the core of the problem. Through listening to our clients’ business needs, working closely with the key people within the company we’ve managed to create a lot of successful, well managed networks over these past 7 years.

“He really has sort of eased my mind as financial controller, that our IT needs – you can never say are 100% looked after because especially in IT there are so many things that can go wrong – but at least, he’s structured it in such a way and continues to do that to minimise our network risk. But when we do have issues he is also very quick to respond and assist with the fixing of the issues.”

The most important thing for us is our relationship with our clients. We don’t have scores of technologists running around fixing IT problems. Our clients invest in in sound IT advice followed up with a technology platform that allows us to monitor their systems and take care of issues before they become emergencies.

If you’re imagining a better IT provider for your company, I look forward to sharing thoughts and advice on my blog and our website.

Warm Regards,
James Vickery
