Describing our process with Prezi

Prezi AnnouncementIf you’ve browsed through past Last Known Issue’s or talked to me at least one time, you’ll know that I have a possibly unhealthy obsession with Prezi, the tool that I think will ultimately replace Powerpoint and Keynote unless they shift from dull slide shows to creative canvasses.

Well, despite my ever decreasing popularity at cocktail parties due to this topic, I’d never actually had a chance to plot out some ideas in Prezi..

Until now!

I’m often scribbling out I Know IT’s process for working with new and existing clients which is what we call our Discover Advise Implement Maintain process.  So I decided why not illustrate this in Prezi.

You can check out my first attempt here: http://prezi.com/czgdsim3b5al/i-know-it-a-short-introduction/

Some of the downsides are the lack of fonts and colours available in the free version – I can only imagine these are available in the paid or that they’re coming but this is a little limiting.

Fortunately for the I Know IT brand we use pretty simple fonts and colours so that makes it a lot more palatable.

If you do have a crack at doing your own Prezi feel free to comment and I’d love to take a look at what you came up with.

Enjoy the weekend..

It seems like every 6 months I’m replacing one of my many Apple devices.  Looking at my ancient 8 week old iPad I can already sense my compulsion to trade in for the latest craze – perhaps a revolutionary iPad that comes with a camera.. Or a USB port.  Apple sure are good at getting us to part with our dollars.  Kudos to them for keeping me interested in their products though..

On the other hand, tried and true devices such as Desktops and Notebooks should have a much longer lifecycle.  Often I’m asked by I Know IT clients “How frequently should we upgrade our computers?” and “What should we buy?”

When you purchase a new desktop or notebook for business you’re generally faced with numerous different options but in my view, the most important elements to look at are the price range [...]

Microsoft, where is your passion?

No PassionMicrosoft, Your Potential, Our Passion? That’s an inspiring brand message but after spending the past few days at Microsoft APC 2010, Microsofts big shindig for Australian Partners I wasn’t left feeling so sure.

Today I am inspired to write about passion.

During the 3 day conference codenamed “Infinite Possibilities” delegates are invited to attend a series of breakout sessions to help us grow our businesses or so one might hope.

Perhaps it was the session labelled “Building Global Channels – Ten steps to world domination” where the presenter pulled up a slide with a picture of a sleeping dog [...]
