I Know IT Team 2011
The Team Together for our Annual Kick Off (William heading off for a cruise and thought he’d dress accordingly!)

If having A player people on your business team is the key to a successful company, then I can’t think of anything more important than putting them all in the same room to share their ideas, debate and forge out a future for themselves and their company.

That was what I had in mind mind this weekend when I gathered our top guns (fortunately for us this meant everybody on the team!) together at Sydney Olympic Park for I Know ITs 2011 Annual Kickoff at the Pullman Hotel.

Topics ranged from our strategic goals for 2011, our plan to market ITAdvantage – a new approach to IT services for small, medium and large companies (delivered by Sonja van den Bosch) through to cloud computing and the development of I Know ITs infrastructure and data centre lead by Solutions Architect -the man who manages to keep zombie hours and business hours, Christian Dunn.  The team spoke about how to deliver value to our clients by putting technology before sales (one of our original core values) and there was even talk of a beachfront Jervis Bay office by our latest A+ Senior Systems Engineer, Colin Vucak (maybe next year Colin!).

Most importantly, and the one that pushed out lunch by an extra hour was the resetting of our company’s Vision, Mission and Values which were fiercely debated by the entire team, but not without a rewarding outcome.

I’m writing this blog on the fly right now but I wanted to share some of our values which included “Focusing on Win/Win”, “Respect” and “Playing to Win, but not at all costs”.  When you couple that with our mission of Creating Raving People” I think we’ve developed a pretty good roadmap for 2011 and beyond.

Post-Coffee Discussion

With the ever-enormous opportunities for our clients to compete in their industry by maximising the use of I.T in their own businesses, this was a critical meeting for us and one we intend on building upon monthly, quarterly and annually.
